Never had been here before today. It's an interesting place... like a Pacific Islands or Caribbean tiki bar. I got the Jerk Pork with their side of the day (garbanzo beans, carrots, and I guess bits of spinach). The quality of the food was terrific. Unfortunately it was too spicy for me so I finally had to stop eating it. As far as jerk pork sandwiches go, I'm sure this is top tier so I'm not going to lower my rating on account of my inability to handle the seasonings. Just fair warning though. At least now, I know me and jerk style anything are not a good match. I definitely look forward to trying some of their other menu choices in the future.

The creations tend to lean toward expertly crafted (and authentically flavored) Asian - Vietnamese/Thai but there are also a huge range of other cuisines represented. My wife's jerk was FIERY as described, and not at all dumbed down. I had the "Hanoi Hoagie." I am from Philly, so a hoagie is somewhat sacred. We also have a huge selection of Vietnamese restaurants, so I was able to overlook the fact that the rolls were not as authentic as I am used to. They were quite good for the area. This take on the Bahn Mi was done with beautifully marinated tender lemongrass beef, and all the usual accompaniments (fish sauce, cilantro, cuke etc,) Pork spring rolls were also piping hot and authentic. Prices are in the $9-13 range, and the sandwiches are not huge.. probably about 7", so if you are a hearty eater, and app is probably in order (we did get a scoop of nice orzo salad, but not enough to fill a hungry belly.) Portions are probably reasonable and healthy for a non-glutton, but the aim here is obviously quality ingredients and authentic preparation as opposed to "cheap and filling." Service is casual and good humored. Highly recommended as a memorable "beach dive."

We went to the place because of the high yelp rating. After getting our food there was something off in both dishes. The pork belly sandwich was loaded with salt. I had to scrape the seasoning topping off to eat it. The pad thai tasted gross too. When we mentioned it the cook he came out to be sure we knew that its a "special" recipe and that we probably just never had good pad thai before. Wrong way to handle it. +Two stars for friendly waitress. -Three stars for the food and lesson on Pad Thai

A TINY bit pricey at first glance, but exceptional food and well worth the $$. The 'Wich Doctor is really a hidden gem on Folly Beach and probably has the BEST food out here!! The menu is very surprising: A number of interesting pizzas (sweet potato, brussel sprout, etc.) and a lot of asian- dishes (Korean BBQ & Kimchee, Hanoi Hoagie and Dan Dan Noodle Bowl). I want to try them all. Some local-type dishes as well: sandwiches like po boy and pulled chicken. For me, I was in a BBQ mood, so went with the PULLED CHICKEN sandwich. It was perfect. Great flavors, textures and mixture of cabbage, bbq sauce and chicken and two toasted slices of white bread (just like BBQ should be). Nice sized portion, and came with a small side of apple/cabbage/carrot slaw. All great! I would like to try all of the things on the menu. I will eat all of the things now please. Definitely worth your TIME and MONEY! Also, not usually as crowded as places directly on Center Street.

The Wich Doctor is in my opinion has the best food of any restaurant on all of Folly Beach. Serving up eclectic sandwiches, pizzas and other dishes, many of which are Asian-inspired, the husband and wife team are extremely passionate about the food they are serving out of their kitchen. I love to go for a pre or post-beach sandwich, with my favorites being the Korean BBQ & Kimchee, Roasted Brisket or Jerk Pork. As for pizzas, they have a number on the menu that are equally as unique as they are tasty, such as the Sweet Potato, White Clam and Creole Shrimp. Must order items: Korean BBQ & Kimchee Sandwich Schezuan Pork Belly Sandwich Creole Shrimp Pizza

Excellent Pizza. I was surprised how good the pizza was because I'm from Brooklyn NY and most places I try pizza out of NYC is a let down.

Absolutely love this place! I bring my entire group every time I visit Folly Beach. Had the pad Thai - probably the first time Ive ever had it cooked authentically since my trip to Thailand. Fresh shrimp, fresh herbs, sprouts, and chives - wonderful! These guys have the best food on folly. Thanks as always 'Which Doctor!

I can't say enough good things about my visit to The Wich Doctor. My Mahi Mahi tacos were fabulous, such a unique recipe. And the personnel were friendly and very helpful. I will definitely return, every time I visit Folly Beach! I am from Pa.

Oh my, the grilled lemongrass octopus and mussel salad is so good. It's a favor explosion in every bite.

Enjoyed our pizza very much. Thin crust, nice and charred edges, creative combinations. Glad we tried to dip the crust in the 'root sauce'. Atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff was pleasant and thoughtful. Actually considering coming back to give sammies a try!

We ate here last year and it was pretty good, though when they say something is spicy THEY MEAN IT! This year however we planned a night to eat here. We made sure we came during hours they were supposed to be open. There was a sign right below their hours that said they were closed, even though their hours clearly stated they should be open. Make sure you call ahead of time as they clearly don't honor their own hours.

Very good very friendly and fast. Great pizza! The perfect hole in the wall. Pizza has a great crust and lots of choices! So good! Stay open later for our group. Good local folks! Try the shrimp pizza & the Margarita.

As really particular sandwich fans, we weren't sure what to expect at this little sandwich shop off the main road at Folly Beach. But the pulled chicken sandwich was fantastic! Perfectly done chicken done up in some homemade spicy hot sauce topped on cabbage on Texas toast with a side of unusually spiced pickled apple and red cabbage salad. Perfectly refreshing bite to eat after a morning of surf and sun! And they have Virgil's Creme Sodas...best ever!!!

I'm not a sandwich girl unless it is something special. The 'Wich Doctor has a menu filled with unique sandwiches and we opted for the pork belly sandwich served with a cabbage slaw on top. It was very good, a nice balance of fatty pork belly (although we actually got meat, not just fat) with the crispy fresh cabbage. We also got the Thai chicken salad special of the day which was pretty authentic and filled with fresh herbs and chicken. A great find in Folly Beach.

Great pizza! I had the margherita pizza and my husband had the creole shrimp pizza. Both were very yummy!

Went to Folly Beach recently with my Wife's family and we saw all the great reviews online and decided to try it for dinner. The high ratings are legitimate. The Pizza was excellent. We ordered 3 Salads (each different) for the table to share and every one of them was great. The quality of the food was as good as anything we had all weekend (including some high-priced Charleston joints). They also had an above average craft beer selection, which was a plus. If I'm ever in Folly Beach again, this will be a definite stop for food.

This place was great! Their menu had some new and interesting things and we really enjoyed the brussel sprout pizza. Definitely worth a visit!!

Was going to go here earlier in the trip but the setting turned us off for us. Boy were we wrong. The menu is somewhat limited but that turned out to be a good thing. The unique sandwiches are very cool but I ended up going with the peperoni with jalapeño pizza. This turned out to be a great choice. The crust was fantastic and the peperoni was thick and tasty. The pizza overall was great, if you have a toss up between woodys and this then I wouldn't be able to decide. But I can say if your going with a smaller group then this is the place and if you were going with a group then I would go with woodys. Both are great. Ultimately the place is great and a must try if in the area.

This is far and away the best place to eat on Folly, lunch or dinner. Very innovative and well constructed dishes but also very much comfort food. My kids love the pizza. The entrees, especially the specials, are always wonderful. The owners really care about what they are creating here. Very good for take out as well. Just remember that they close at 8:00. Please please please support them over the winter. It would be a shame if Folly were to lose this place.

This place is in the running for best sandwiches in the world. The duck club at tatooed moose is the only thing better....and thats by a slim "maybe." This place blew us away and should be on every foodies bucket list.

Found this place through one of the local guys! Amazing food, and the vegetarian choices are probably the best! Atmosphere is very beachy and local. Can't go wrong here.

We came here during our beach vacation because of Yelp and boy was I glad. We got a pork sandwich, a banh mi and the cold soba noodle salad. The sandwiches were so delicoius. I really have nothing bad to say about them. They are creative. Every single topping in those sandwiches were seasoned so well. Added together, becomes an explosion of flavors. GAH it was so good. Just thinking about it makes me want to drool. I had to share my sandwich with my boyfriend, and I remember being very reluctant and tried to get the bigger half without him looking. The soda noodle salad was huge and it had a lot of different toppings in them. Chicken, Shrimp, pickled korean daikon, and some other veggies. It was also pretty spicy. One complaint I had was that it wasn't very flavourful. It was a little bland for my taste, which knocked my review down one star. You really can't be wrong with the sandwiches though. I will definitely be back!

This is a hidden gem. Absolutely wonderful food, disguised as a mere sandwich shop.

  • Dariel S.

The food was really good. I had the Jerk pork I must say though, it's really spicy! Like maybe they can even tone it down a notch to get more of the pork flavor because my mouth was on fire. The Margherita pizza was really good the crust was awesome but I think it's a little over priced for the size it was $11 or $12. Overall some pretty good and unique food but prices are a little high.

Definitely a dive with few frills but the pizza is delicious! Enjoyed this place for a quick lunch alone this weekend in Folly! YUM

Perfect little hole in the wall place. We happened to wander in after I consulted Yelp and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food was exceptionally amazing. The name of this place is somewhat confusing as this place also had sandwiches, noodle bowls, and tacos but that may be an extension of the original concept. I tried the cheese pizza and a bite of one of the noodle bowls. The cheese pizza was excellent. It wasn't overwhelmed with cheese and was on thin crust but the distinct flavors of all the cheeses were distinguishable as I ate the pizza. Even though it was hot outside, I am glad I ordered the pizza. The selection of vegetables in the pork noodle bowl was great and fresh but the entire thing was slightly greasy. I would still go back however to try the unique pizzas and tacos on the menu. If you are in the area, ditch the flashy generic restaurants and head over to 'Wich Doctor. You will be incredibly surprised.

Five stars for the Jerk Pork sandwich alone! We were staying at a neighboring beach and checking out some other areas so we headed to Folly Beach. Even on a weekday at lunch in July the little town was packed. Honestly, 'Wich Doctor had the only parking spot we could find legally. Thank goodness, because being off the main strip, we might have missed stopping. A little pricey, but definitely comparable with restaurants. As a family of four we split a pepperoni jalepeno pizza and the pork sandwich. Actually I did not share my pork sandwich. It was too good. I gave the hubby a couple bites, but not half by far. It was definitely a generous amount to be shareable though, if you feel kind. The pork is spicy, Caribbean style spicy, but the plantains and cheese were just right to balance it out. The apple slaw was a good compliment. The pizza was a hit with the kids who are not adventurous in the least. Another bonus was the neat selection of bottle sodas.

Went here to grab a quick pizza before watching the SNL 40th anniversary show. They recommended the brussel sprout pizza (with bacon and mushrooms and more) and it was out of this world! If you're on the fence about going here, get off that fence before you get some splinters. Great place. Amazing Za.

The best lunch in Folly Beach. My guests agreed. The food was excellent, the location is mere blocks from the shore, and the staff was wonderful. We had the Brussel Sprout Pizza, the Margarita Pizza, Hanoi Hoagie, Pork Sandwich, Turkey Sandwich, and Chicken Sandwich. The beer is cold and there is a great selection! My only complaint is in turn a compliment. I wish it were open longer! The pizza is the best on the island and would be wonderful late with beers or margaritas. We go to Taco Boy 5x in the week due to the few options... The 'Wich Doctor leaves me craving more!!!

This is NOT just a sandwich shop!! Every dish on the menu is amazing! Featuring different specials everyday that utilize fresh local ingredients as well as unique cultural flavors from around the world. This has become one of my top favorite restaurants in Charleston. I have eaten there as many a 5 days in a row, and plan on doing so many more times. I cannot pick out one dish to recommend because they are all SLAMMIN'!!!!

Love this place. The owners Butler and Krista are awesome. Best pizza for 300 miles. And that from a Brooklyn born and raised Italian.

I'm a little afraid to write an imperfect review seeing how others were responded to by the management. One was called an assh*le, another a troll, who both seemed reasonable to me. And it sounds like one was physically assaulted. 3/4 of my family members are vegetarian. I went to the counter to order and asked what was recommended to vegetarians, and to my pleasant surprise, I was told they could make any sandwiches vegetarian by replacing the meat with tofu. This is music to a vegetarian's ears, and I ordered one of the two that the lady at the counter said was especially good. Ordered a pizza for the kids and my husband got a meat sandwich. Took the kids to the bathroom, which had quite an eclectic collection of decorations/signs. I didn't enjoy the anti-vegetarian stuff on the walls in there, but took it with a grain of salt because the toilet had a sticker on the underside that said "No Brownstreak." I had to contemplate that one for awhile, and as I left the bathroom, I asked the woman at the counter something to the effect of why go to great lengths to accommodate vegetarians so well and then make fun of them in the bathroom? She said "We're not vegetarians. It's our choice what to put in the bathroom." Of course they are not vegetarians. Of course they have free speech. But is this nice or professional? It didn't make sense to me. The food ranged from pretty good to very good. No complaints. Cool soda and beer collection.

This place was great! Found out about it on a random internet/Yelp search and were pleased. We had the Pork Jerk and specialty pizza (sweet potato). Fun atmosphere which lives up to it title as best hole in the wall and is really laid back. If you are in the Charleston area, check it out.

This place is excellent! The atmosphere, service and especially the food were perfect for a hot beach day. I live in downtown charleston and will likely drive to folly just for their noodle bowls! Definitely among the best Asian food I've had in SC.

Perfect little beach hole in the wall! Brussels sprout pizza was delicious, and the chicken and waffles sammie was amazing!!! We stopped hereafter a morning of kayaking and were very pleased with our choice! Perfect stop before hitting Folly Beach.

  • Scott C.

Overrated. Fun hole in the environment and eclectic choices make this an interesting place to visit. I would definitely not call it family friendly . The owners were nice but not overly accommodating. No high chairs and no kids menu make you feel as though small kids are not welcome, which is fine. Other reviewers indicated differently. Now on to the food. We ordered three pizzas. Cheese, Italian sausage and a special of the day pizza. The ingredients were interesting , but the taste was uninspiring. Frankly, we think people must get caught up in the environment as the food was just not that great.

I'm glad you remember me, my family will remember the service received and never eat at Wich Doctor again. I travel for work and many times I arrive late and just want some quick takeout at my hotel. I've ordered Vietnamese all over the country and the condiments are an important part of the meal. I have never had a restaurant nickel and dime for every little plastic container of sauce. Wich doctor doesn't even include them by default for take out (though a take out charge is added) and the attitude received when a customer asks for them is absurd. You're welcome to flame me some more and continue to think your customers are all "trolls" and "**oles" as you have called other reviewers. Eventually when nobody frequents your establishment maybe you will see your attitude, service and food was the real problem.

  • D S.

To bad other places aren't 10% as creative with food. This place is legit for a small owners operated - with the skills of a good laid back chef. Disappointed the grapefruit shrimp Thai wasn't available this week, but was intrigued by the other fascinating specials. Showed up at 4 for late lunch, so pretty much had the place to ourselves. There isn't anything on this little island I've found better yet.

  • Paul M.

I had the Barbacoa taco mystery meat special with avocado and pickled onions. The meat was very tough and mixed with chunks of fat. There was no fresh avocado but instead a guacamole paste you could buy from a grocery store. My wife had the pork and pineapple noodles with cilantro special. The fatty pork was hidden under the noodles and cilantro. Very surprised by all the positive reviews. Maybe we ordered wrong or they cater to the tourist and not for repeat business. Over all, lost our appetites and left. Will not be back.

  • Megan M.

Delicious! I got one of their specials...an Asian dish whose name escapes me, but featured scrumptious tofu, pork, rice noodles, and baby broccoli. In addition to a satisfying meal, the owners were sweethearts and were able to accommodate our group of 11 just an hour before closing. Seeing how small the place was, we were expecting to wait a while but they produced 4 pizzas and 4 other spectacular dishes in record time. Seriously impressive and will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

  • Tram L.

Butler and Krista are awesome. We're here for business and didn't feel like driving downtown for dinner, even though there are a ton of good restaurants there. We were just driving along the streets of Folly Beach, thought we were settling, but were blown away by the quality and creativeness of the food here. I'm a food blogger at nutritiontokitchen.com , and cook a lot. Butler obviously knows his food and we were talking at length about the complexity of his miso ramen, which had such bold spice and flavor. This dish takes days to make and we (my husband and I) were so impressed by his passion for food. Also on the menu was Vietnamese banh xeo, pizza with bottarga, etc. You wouldn't expect this in this neck of the woods! Though our pizza was really good (the crust is really awesome!), we'll be back just for the specials on the chalkboard, which changes all the time!

I eat here at least once a week and I am never disappointed. Brussel sprout, bacon and portabello pizza, hand made sausages or any of the noodle dishes. Flavor town.

Make this your only restaurant choice in Folly Beach. The place is adorable, food is out of this world delicious and the people that own are perfect hosts! This place is far from just sandwiches, the specials are amazing! Unique cooking! Top notch. And there is beer in the fridge!

  • Merissa H.

My husband and I ordered the Hanoi Hoagie and Korean BBQ sandwich to split. Two sandwiches, 2 drinks, and a bag of chips was $33. We thought that at those prices hopefully we'd be getting great food. Nope. It does have a menu full of some really interesting and different options; however, everything we ordered fell short of what we had hoped. Really disappointed after reading all the great reviews. So sad to waste a meal there with so many better options.

  • Micki S.

Amazing food with relaxing atmosphere. We ordered the Caprese Sandwich, Korean BBQ & Kimchi sandwich and the Margerita Pizza. All were spectacular and they let us eat on the patio with our dog. Good selection of bottled beer and sodas. My husband said the root beer was excellent as well.

  • Sherry F.

Fantastic place. Best food we've had on Folly. We ordered the margherita pizza, the sweet potato pizza and the brisket sandwich. The pizzas were perfect. Thin crust, fresh ingredients. The margherita was perfect in its simplicity. The sweet potato was unexpected. I never would have thought those ingredients would marry so well. But the star was the brisket sandwich. Seriously. The brisket is so tender, frickin' delicious. And the combination of the pickled veggies and the chinese steamed buns, it was just so, so good. The buns are fluffy and soft. The combination is so balanced and good. Please go. This place is worth it. Going back tomorrow.

After an afternoon of being battered around by the surf we were relieved to find this culinary gem. My year has involved a lot of eating out and constant travel, Who knew that best pizza I'd have in 2014 would be in Folly Beach?! What the heck is in the slow roasted beef brisket besides pickled banana? My 10yr old labelled it "exotic"...it was gone to quickly to be overly analyzed-definitely more-ish. Do your taste buds a favor and drop by for a sandwich and a local brew. .

Really glad I stopped in this place with my friend, he said it was good, I had a sandwich on special, some kinda pork, awesome, he got the Hanoi Hogie on the menu, that was great too, funky little place, cool couple running the place, interesting menu, different and awesome homemade hot sauces, that got a bonus star from me!!!

Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode about the soup Nazi? Well you found the Folly Beach version. Great food, but don't talk to the chef. Don't even look at him. If your in a hurry forget about it... Also, don't dare walk into the place 20 minutes before closing.... And hours... Well that's another story. They are great about tweaking the food a bit for likes and dislikes... You have to cross your fingers that they're in a good mood. Great food though. Call and make sure they're open.

Our family gathered from St Louis, Boston and California for Christmas holidays in a house on Folly Beach this year. Those of us familiar with the excellent adventurous menu we'd enjoyed many times there before, led the whole gang to the Wich Doctor on Sunday December 29th evening. Taking our orders, the chef's wife(?) somehow mistook my Boston brother-in-law saying "keep the 3 cents change" as an insult and she reported this "stiff" to the chef. It's common in Boston to find penny-dishes by the cash register that customers use to round out transactions. In California also. The chef left his kitchen, found my seated 67 year-old brother-in-law, leaned down close to his face, spoke incoherently about not leaving a tip, and slapped him HARD on his shoulder in full view of the rest of our family. His daughter, who is in food service in California, was so troubled by the chef's outburst, that she got up and walked out, never getting to enjoy dinner with her whole family on their last night together. Meanwhile, when it finally sunk in with my brother-in-law that the cashier had mistaken the "keep the pennies" as a tip, he left his seat, found the chef, offered his explanation of the incident to the chef and accepted the chef's apology. The rest of the family who live in Charleston area, it pains me to report, is not so ready to accept. They won't be back to what had been one of our favorite local restaurants.

Absolutely loved this place. For lunch, we split the Hanoi Hoagie (lemongrass beef with traditional Vietnamese condiments and nuoc cham) and the Vietnamese chicken salad w/ peppers, cucumbers, herbs, sprouts, and tart Asian dressing. Both were outstanding - bursting with fresh flavors. Very imaginative takes on traditional Vietnamese flavors. Honestly, one of the better lunches we've had. With many other choices, we came back for dinner - it's that good. We split the clam pizza and a house salad - which isn't on the menu but was prepared from various marinated vegetables. Off the chart good. The clam pizza was the bomb as well. Perfectly crisp and salty crust, feta cheese plus thinly sliced lemons and sublime clams. The flavors all came together nicely and the lemons are genius. Perhaps not typical beach food but Folly isn't really a typical beach. You won't be disappointed.

we had been meaning to try Wich Doctor for a while but it was an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. The owners demeanor was almost hostile and I can see from other reviews this may not be limited to us. There was only one other customer in the restaurant but they seemed almost annoyed with us. The food was not bad but was not great. the pizza especially was kind of meh. Message to the owners: you have responded angrily to other reviewers asking why they did not bring issues to your attention. We just did not feel comfortable speaking out at the time. We felt it was better to just leave. If you were more approachable maybe customers would express their opinion directly more often. Good luck but we will not be coming back anytime soon.

By far one of the best unknown spots in the Charleston area. All 3 of us had the best diverse meals of the week. The grilled cheddar was huge and unlike no other. I got the 3 drumstick special and ha to go back the next day for more. They went too fast and I was forced to enjoy an Asian style salad with shrimp on it. It was a huge serving and very delicious.

  • Sasha R.

The pizza here is the best on Folly Beach! Thin, great sauce, maybe a little heavy on the cheese (in my opinion). The crust is good, although I'd love for it to be a little yeastier in flavor. Overall, great pizza!

Found this place on yelp and read that it was voted #1 hole in the wall on folly beach. We decided to check it out. It was so good!!! I had the sweet potato specialty pizza. All the flavors on it were perfect! The place had a laid back charm to it. The couple running it were efficient and friendly.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The menu looked very different for a sandwich place, which I was very excited about. However, when I received the Thai salad it was completely different than described on the menu. My husband's sandwich was the pork belly sandwich and was super spicy! He thought it was good, but something about all the flavored was off for both dishes. You must go to the bathroom... It's unique ;)

Phenomenal Pizza! The best on this side of town, without a doubt. Please do yourself a favor and try this before going to the huge pizza chains- the quality is eons above. If you are looking to try this place, pick one up on a Monday- Pizzas are $2 off! This is my spot! The owners are wonderful and provide awesome service. Voted Best Hole in the Wall by the CCP for a reason!

If you are in Folly Beach and looking for a delicious food adventure, this is a must! Two of us split a Szechuan beef soup special and the Hanoi hoagie for what we expected to be a late lunch. Turns out, the food was so plentiful in addition to being so stimulatingly tasty that our dinner reservations later might be a moot point. Not to mention, the owners were helpful and accommodating. Come check out the Wich Doctor (and don't let the informality of the space scare you)!

WHOA! Couldn't wait to get home to review...too good to wait. So here we sit having just finished the Hanoi Hoagie and working on the Szechuan beef soup. Folks, you must try this place. The flavors were to die for. We order the HH because of Yelp reviewers and it was terrific. The soup was out of this world, bursting with delicious spicy flavors and loaded over the top of the bowl with beef, mushrooms, eggplant, noodles and green beans. We washed it all down with a good beer from the cooler. Owners were very nice and attentive.

Our experience with Wich Doctor got off to a bad start when i called just before 5pm to confirm they were open and ask about the specials. The woman working did not want to take the time over the phone to tell me about the specials and when I said I couldn't see them on the internet, she sighed and put me on hold and then proceeded to read them off so quickly that I couldn't make heads or tails of the many options. I had to ask her to repeat them twice. (and I am not slow to follow this sort of thing) Nonetheless we went to The 'Wich Doctor and got the Pad Thai special (which was tasty) and the Shrimp Stirfry sandwich. To their credit they allowed me to pick the stir fry veggies so that I could minimize peppers and onions and add broccoli. It was OK, and maybe I'm just spoiled by the amazing options in Asheville, but the roll could have been better and the veggies were over-sauced. The shrimp was good, though. After the phone call debacle, I figured they'd be slammed, but there was only one other small party in there. Why rush the phone call and start off on the wrong foot when you're even busy? IF we got back to the "wich doctor we might try the pizza, and maybe a salad or the Pad Thai again, but the other sandwich combinations just didn't really appeal.

I really wanted to love Wich Doctor, but I only liked it. Asian inspired sandwiches and noodles were fresh if not fully realized. Pizza looked good, but was kinda bland. Creative concept for the area, but needs fine tuning.

Holy crap, so good!! I could have eaten 4 of the Hanoi hoagies and the creole pizza was also great. The dining room is cozy and the owner was super friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and they have a great drinks selection. We were so lucky to go right before they closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, otherwise we probably would have gone every day we were on Folly Beach. It's that good.

Family of four, we split the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich and the Hanoi Hoagie, four sodas, and three bags of chips, plus tip, $40.00. Good concepts but poor execution on the sandwiches. Maybe blacken the chicken or the waffle for some flavor and balance the heat on the hoagie with some type of sauce as ours had none.

Funky little place. Creole Shrimp Pizza was super spicy and loaded with shrimp, andouille sausage and cherry tomatoes. Yum! Arugula Salad Special was great too with a spicy chinese orange dressing and plenty of shrimp. Staff was super friendly.

This isn't on the main drag; just a half block off tucked behind another eatery in the center out town, but sooo worth the effort to find. We discovered it after it received a rave review in the Charleston City paper. For an informal lunch spot, the Wich has it all -- great (and quick) service, innovation in the menu, and a broad variety of food. We were here in the off-season (October) but it was filled with local workers munching away. I had the kimchee beef sandwich (now where would you find that in Charleston?) along with their unlimited supplies of hibiscus ginger punch. Some picked okra on the side (for free). My friend had the Vietnamese sandwich, but since she has a gluten issue, they made a salad out of it for her, and it was loaded with goodies. We saw a pizza at the next table and it looked yummy too. Parking is pretty limited right out front (only three spaces).

Mmmm... Yum yum. Not your typical ham and cheese sub. Creative Asian and Cuban inspired sandwiches and much better/healthier options than the greasy fare around the corner. Delicious food and friendly staff. It's nice to eat at place where they actually care about what they're serving you and truly hope you enjoy. The 'wich doctor was my lunchtime cure!

Awesome little hole in the wall. The Sammie's were awesome. A must try if your in the Folly Beach area!!

So much better and less crowded than the places on Center Street. Creative sandwiches and pizzas. Loved the staff, who were super friendly! We had the clam pizza and an Asian-inspired sandwich. Both were delish!

As good of a sandwich place as I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot). The couple who run the place seem to really care about the food and it comes through. Difficult to overstate how much I enjoy the food here.

Dropped in last week to try out the Wich Doctor... Awesome food! I had a Caribbean Jerk Pork sandwich and my wife got a breakfast sandwich. Both were outstanding. All sandwiches are offered in a vegetarian version. All fresh ingredients. Cool people. Going to go back to try the pizza.

  • Megan M.

I can't say enough good things about my visit to The Wich Doctor. My Mahi Mahi tacos were fabulous, such a unique recipe. And the personnel were friendly and very helpful. I will definitely return, every time I visit Folly Beach! I am from Pa.

Enjoyed our pizza very much. Thin crust, nice and charred edges, creative combinations. Glad we tried to dip the crust in the 'root sauce'. Atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff was pleasant and thoughtful. Actually considering coming back to give sammies a try!

  • Laura F.

Amazing Za.
